Researching the
Identification and Development of Skill Sets
in the Automotive Retail, Service & Repair
and Automotive Manufacturing sectors
During February 2008 ATA
distributed an on-line industry survey
seeking advice regarding the need and
requirements for Skill Sets in automotive
training packages. If you completed this
survey, we would like to thank you for your
participation.
Whilst response levels were disappointing, the
data gathered in the surveys indicates a
good degree of support for the addition of
Skill Sets to both areas covered by the
relevant training packages.
The full report based on the survey results
can be downloaded
here
On the basis of the survey data gathered,
the following areas may be considered for
the development of Skill Sets:
ATA is now seeking industry experts in the
above areas to assist with further
consultation and the possible development of
the units of competence which may be
required to form Skill Sets. All
comments, feedback and issues relating to
Skill Sets can be lodged via the relevant
Design Improvement Registers, or
alternatively by
contacting
Lorraine Smith (RS&R) or
Michael Littlechild (Manufacturing) at
the ATA office on 03 9479 3480.
