PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE COMPONENT DONATION
PROGRAMME
The
Component Donation programme operation has now been transferred to the
control of FCAI.
For any
queries or information please contact Mr Jim Rutherford on 03 9829 1234
or email jim.rutherford@fcai.com.au
The programme was founded by the Federal Chamber
of Automotive Industries (FCAI) and is implemented on their behalf by
ATA.
This programme was established under the direction
of the FCAI, whose members are the prime component donors, in order to
provide TAFE institutes with state of the art components upon which to
train students to support the automotive industry.
Vehicle manufacturers/importers/suppliers (FCAI
members) advise or enter into the database, material they have
available for donation. These are allocated to Providers (TAFE
Institutes) in accordance with their requirements as entered into the
database. Last financial year in excess of $4M worth of components or
assemblies were donated to TAFE institutes throughout Australia. Since
the inception of this programme, a calculated value of in excess of
$34M worth of components has been donated.
The programme operates on a cost only basis with
recipient TAFE Institutes contributing to the ongoing operating costs
including freight costs ex the Melbourne Distribution Centre.
Individual recipient Institutes pay the freight costs from the
distribution centre to their location.
This innovative and user friendly computer program
enables direct entry by both Suppliers & Providers and enables
direct communication with the Programme Administration, all via the
Internet. It should enable more efficient distribution of components to
meet the training demand.
