ATA is the national automotive advisory
board and was established in 1990 by the following shareholders:
Federal Chamber
of Automotive Industries (FCAI)
• Representing vehicle manufacturers and importers.
FCAI is the peak industry organisation representing
the automotive industry in Australia. FCAI's membership
comprises the four passenger motor vehicle manufacturers
and all major international brands importing and marketing
passenger, light commercial and four-wheel drive vehicles
and motor cycles in Australia.
Motor Trades Association of
Australia (MTAA)
• Representing enterprises involved in the retail,
services and repair sector.
MTAA is the national peak body for the whole of the
retail, service and repair sectors of the Australian
automotive industry. The Association is a federation
of the motor trades associations and the automobile
chambers of commerce in each state and territory as
well as the New South Wales based Service Station Association
Ltd (SSA Ltd). The Association is an unlisted public
company having limited liability.
Australian Council of Trade
Unions (ACTU)
• Representing unions involved in the automotive
industry.
ACTU is the only peak council and national centre representing
the Australian workforce. The ACTU is made up of 46
affiliated unions representing around 1.8 million workers
with representation in each state. The ACTU is able
to speak on behalf of all workers including those in
manufacturing, finance, government and the service sector
generally. It includes trades, sales, clerical, technical
and professional workers amongst its affiliated union
membership.
